As you may have heard I will not be competing in this years Scottish Six Days Trial.



My reasons are very simple, the current economic climate and shear cost of riding in the highland classic far outweighs the benefits for me as a rider. I don’t have to buy a bike or spares or tyres etc, although even if I was to win it would earn me not a single penny.



Braybrook Offroad have always had a retail stand on parc ferme for weigh in weekend, and this year we will do the same again with the addition of a tyre supply and fitting service for private entrants, this will be open all week during the event.



We have as you know been a Dunlop distributor for a few years now, with the Dunlop official service not traveling to Scotland this year it makes sense for us to take it on and try to earn some profit from sales of tyres during the week.



Having finished Joint 3rd last year and being best Gas Gas rider in the event, leaves me with a certain amount of sadness as the enjoyment of riding round for 6 days with my mates is always a pleasure, I am sure it will be to many of the younger Gas Gas team riders relief that I will not be riding, maybe they won’t need to open the excuse book as to why a 39 year old whips their ass in this classic event.



I would like to close by thanking you for your support through Gas Gas UK for the odd trials / enduro extreme events that I do, our business in Scotland in no way effects the ( casual ) deal which I have with John Junior at Gas Gas.
