DABILL wins BTC 6 !

James Dabill, No.1 JST GGUK Rider has just won Round 6 of the British Trials Championship.

The 'new' event organised by the Torridge & District MCC was a success after the club set out real challenging (but not daft) course.
The practice lap on Saturday afternoon was ruined by the torrential rain which worried the organisers and riders. Nevertheless they changed a few sections for yesterday and the weather brightened up so all was well.

The first 5 sections were in the wood which were very muddy and the rest were on dryer rocky outcrops which really were excellent sections.
Section 2 was very hard at the end with a very steep, muddy double step which only Dibs and Craig Robinson got out of on the first lap.
Dibs had a superb one dab ride and Craig had a commited 'three'. Both Dibs' main rivals Browny and Wiggy fived.
This gave Dibs an early lead which he 'buzzed off' and finished the first lap on 24+3 on time. This was 9 better than Wiggy in 2nd.
Browny was best on lap 2 and closed the gap slightly on Dibs but because conditions were tough James rode the last lap confidently and recorded the best final lap to confirm the win.
James was naturally happy to win but will admit to making too many mistakes yesterday which frustrated him. He is very self-critical with his riding (which is not a bad thing) and sometimes this frustrates him. He was pleased that the event was harder than the previous two and congratulated the club on the podium as did Micheal and Alexz.
The 'main class' sections should be challenging for the riders as this is the stepping stone for the WTC..

Dibs now has a 9 point lead with two rounds to go so things are still close. We expect 'Legend Lampkin' to ride at the next round so this should spice things up. James has a massive amount of respect for Doug but we hope Doug rides because James always raises his game when he rides.

Sam Haslam (JSTGG) had his best BTC result of the year finishing 4th. Sam always rides well in the mud and looks good on his new RAGA bike. Sam is now joint 4th in the Championship with Jack Challoni so expect a focused Haslam at Round 7.

Ross Danby (JSTGG) was 6th and also looked good. Ross really impressed me on the hard final part of the second section where his 'full-on' aggressive style worked. Ross was beaten by George Morton and is now battling with George to stay ahead of him in the championship standings...

The Expert Class was won by Sam Connor with Jonny Walker 2nd on his WREN GAS GAS PRO125.
This is Jonnys best BTC result of his career and comes off the back of his first National win at last weekends Dave Rowland Trial. WELL DONE!
Jonny is now 6th in the Expert Championship, second best GG rider.
Lee Sampson (TRC GAS GAS) had a bad day finishing 7th, but is still 5th overall in the Championshp and best GG rider.

Dan Thorpe (JSTGG) rode the Alan Jefferies instead of the long trip to Devon where he was focused for the win after not winning the Dave Rowland. Dan was dissappointed to finish 4th after three bad 'fives' spoilt his day.

Thanks to Jack and Factory Kev...

The Steve Plain / GGUK Enduro Team were out in force at Round 2 of the British Championship Enduro Championship and No.1 Rider ASHLEY WOOD had an excellent weekend finished 5th in the Championship E2 Class (7th overall). He was 5th on Day 1 and 4th on Day 2.
Ash had some good consistant test times and stayed 'clean' on the going which was pretty tough on the Saturday because of the wet weather.

Bradley King continues to impress this year and was gutted to lose 1 minute on the Saturdays tight check when he missed it by a only a few seconds. Suffering with a cold, this didnt deter him from digging deep in the shitty welsh forests. His test times were ok, and he admits he must improve on the grass.
Brad finished 10th in the Championship E2 Class (17th overall). He was 11th on Day 1 and 8th on Day 2 in E2.

Luke Meredith finished 3rd in the Expert E2 Class (5th overall). He was 5th on Day 1 and 3rd on Day 2 in E2.
Luke had some excellent test times on Day 1 but this was spoilt by losing 4 minutes on the going. Luke has so much potential and needs to get his skinny ass and short legs to Wales for some training...Maybe you can borrow my legs for the next round pal ;)

Gareth Hopkins retired on Day 1 hurting his injured shoulder again! Gareth has informed me this morning that his shoulder needs surgery and will now be out of action until mid October ;) Get well soon mate...
