GG weekend news...

JAMES DABILL, No1 JST GAS GAS UK Rider has finished the 2009 World Trials Championship in 7th place.

Dibs finished his WTC season off over the last two weekends with a solid 7th place at last weekends Spanish Round and a disappointing 10th place at yesterday’s final French round.

This has been James’ best ever WTC position of his career and improves on his 8th place overall from 2008.

I was not in Spain last weekend so I can’t really comment on his performance.

I was there yesterday in France and his day can only be described as a ‘bad day at the office’. He looked very good and confident in practice and he was happy with the bike set up which was similar the equally high in altitude Andorran round back in June where he finished 6th.

Maybe I added the pressure reminding him that it would be good to finish the year with a mega result to impress the GG Factory. The factory are indeed happy with James this year and we hope that this has been the first of a long standing relationship with the GAS GAS brand.

Whatever he tried yesterday, nothing worked! He was not on the boil from the off with two shaky rides on the opening 2 sections but recovered well with a mega ride on 3. Then he went on a roll of bad rides which frustrated him. Nevertheless he kept on trying but knew that with the trial being relatively low scoring that the damage had been done on the first lap. He also had zero luck with the harsh French observers and was cruelly timed out twice and was also penalized on 7 for going through the blue cards. L

Maybe James knowing that his 7th place overall in the Championship was relatively safe he wasn’t as determined as normal?

Dibs now has the Trial Des Nations this coming weekend in Italy before returning home to the UK for the final BTC round at the end of the month. James has been away for 5 weeks now and will look forward to his own bed and mothers cooking!

Congratulations to Adam Raga who was easily the best rider yesterday and used his head to blast round the second lap before it rained. Ive read that this was the only reason why he won which is ‘crap’! He rode his own event, used his head and this mega win was just what he needed to recover his confidence after his knee operation and weeks without training.

JST GAS GAS Rider Ross Danby who has been committed to the Junior Class of the WTC this year has finished 8th overall in the Championship.

The French WTC on Saturday was also the second round of the Ladies WTC and JSTGG rider Emma Bristow finishing 5th just behind ACE GG rider Joanne Coles who had another mega ride on her 125cc..

Hannah Styles (ACEGG) battled on in 13th place.

Congrats to Boni Tou and Montesa for winning the Championship…
