What a weekend !

This is a tricky one because I really do not want to sound like I’m bragging but what the hell, we had an awesome weekend !!

R1 YOUTH BTC A&B Class

Firstly the best result of the weekend definitely goes to CHRIS SHORT (JSTGG) who absolutely blitzed the first round of the 2010 British A&B Youth Trials Championship at the mega slippy Bracken Rocks venue

He won by over 40 marks from his Team mate CHRIS STAY (JSTGG) who also had a fantastic debut A Class ride finishing second.

Tom Dexter (ACEGG) was 3rd so we had a full GG podium at Round 1 which is fantastic.

George Gosden (JSTGG) finished 6th which is also very respectable for the B Class champ also in his first year in A Class..

Shorty has really improved over the last few months and has obviously been practicing hard. He has been riding a lot with his best pal Ben Morph who is also riding very well so this has helped him.

Luke Walker as expected won the B Class but we had a gaggle of GG riders in the top results.. Bradley Cox (ACEGG) was 2nd. Jack Birch (GG) was 4rd, and JSTGG rider
Jack Stones was 5th.
The ‘wheelie-king’ Jack Price in his first year in B Class was a fantastic 6th on his B+BJSTGG…
Thanks to Barry Robinson for the mega pic of Short…

R2 NOVOGAR ‘Colmore cup’
JST GAS GAS 1,2,3 J

DAN THORPE beat his younger Team mates to remind them that he is still THE National man. Ross Danby continues his good run of results in 2nd and Sam Haslam was 3rd. Sam had a quick ‘5’ later in the day to spoil his chances of challenging for the win.

Ricky Wiggins (GG) is also worthy of a mention finishing 6th on only 18 marks..

RIDEOFFROADUK hare n hounds race
LINCOLN BREWSTER WINS AGAIN!!!
Linc revved his little CC200 to yet another win at Wayne Braybrooks ‘winter warmer’ at Caister J The ‘Terminator’ may have to get a new name soon and change to the Dominator!
Jason Crossland on his B+B GGEC300 was 2nd.

R1 BRITISH ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP
Yet again the Diss Club organised a fantastic ‘Muntjac’ Enduro which was sensibly cut short die to the horrendous weather.

Steve Plains GGUK Enduro Team was out in force and all riders did not disappoint.

No.1 Rider Ashley Wood had a VERY good result finishing 3rd in Champ E2 and 7th overall. Ash stayed ‘clean’ on time and had some really good test times. He looked strong all day and no problem with fitness which was good to see.
Thanks to Enduro Extreme Mag for the pic of Ash.

No.2 Rider Bradley King impressed and surprised quite a few people with some good test times and the CC300 really does suit his riding style. Brad finished 2nd in Champ E3 behind Knighter and 13th overall. Brad was a little disappointed with dropping 2 minutes on the check but the conditions were tough and his strength and fitness will improve.
Tim Foreman rode Plainers CC300 and finished 3rd in Champ E3 (20TH overall)

No. 3 Rider Charlie Evans struggled yesterday and was frustrated with only having 2 tests in the Expert Class. It’s hard to know how to attack the test when there are only 2 tests because a small mistake can ruin the result. He crashed on the first test but still finished 2nd in Expert E3 and 15th overall. The course was very hard for the Experts and everyone lost time. Charlie lost 12 minutes.

GGUK rider and spannerman Luke ‘Mezza’ Meredith had a weekend off MX and was under pressure to prove the competitiveness of the new ECF2504T. Luke rode our ‘standard’ demo bike with the now ‘free’ DEP race silencer and answered the critics.
Luke was 2nd overall on test times and was still challenging for the win until the last check where he lost 10 minutes due to a spluttering motor caused by ‘crap’ in the carb. Conditions were extreme and Luke was gutted at the finish to lose 10 minutes because he really did look good on the bike and had no problem with fitness. He also struggled (as did most) with goggles and rode the last check with no goggles and looks like a beaten boxer today!
Luke was impressed with how easy it was to ride.
He still finished 3rd in the Expert E1-4T Class and 11th overall. BIKE PROVEN….me happy J

My pal and ‘JAMES DABILL Minder’ JACK LEE rode his CC300 in the Expert Class and finished 7th in E3.

Regards,
Shirty

This weekend is R1 BRITISH TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIP at Scarborough and JAMES DABILL starts with the No1 bib as the current British Trials Champion and wants to keep it!
