Dabill wins BTC2.....and Gary MacDonald wins Expert A Class..
BTC2 Kinlochleven; JAMES DABILL JST No1 Rider has just won the second round of the 2010 British Trials Championship at Kinlochleven in the Scottish Highlands. After the bad weather spoilt Round 1, the good weather made Round 2 superb... The Lochaber MCC and Team Macdonald have good experience of the venue and after initially thinking after the practice lap it would be too easy, it actually turned out 'perfect' for yesterdays event. The rocks were still quite slippy on the first lap catching quite a few riders out. Dibs was a little stiff on the first few sections and had a few slack marks on the first lap. A superb 'clean' on the last section was needed for Dibs to take the lead after Lap 1. He then relaxed and was a different rider on the second lap cleaning all but one of the twelve sections. He 'fived' section 9 which was his 'bogey' section where he struggled on all three occasions. Dibs was VERY frustrated with the end of this section because he just couldnt get it right. Where he impressed me was his ability to keep his head and focus on the very next section which was equally as tricky and he cleaned it every lap. With a 4 mark advantage over his pal Browny going into the last lap it was a case of 'nothing daft' and 'making sure'. A few 'safe dabs' and finishing with another easy clean on the last section saw Dibs as the worthy winner. SHAUN MORRIS JSTGG is back!! Shaun was back on the BTC podium and back with a smile after a very encouraging and confidence boosting ride after his bad ride at Round 1. Good on ya ! ROSS DANBY JSTGG matched his career best with a 4th place after three solid laps to finish well ahead of Alexz Wigg in 5th. SAM HASLAM JSTGG was a 'struggling' 7th. GARY MACDONALD JSTGG WON the Expert A Class with the added pressure of riding at his home event. Most people think it is an advantage riding at your local venue but it actually adds to the pressure on the rider so good on ya Gary and thanks for your first GG win at a BTC ! Jonny Walker was a dissapointing 6th. DAN FARRER JSTGG was 4th in the Expert B Class. Thanks to JACK, Factory Kev. Pic..TRIALMAG. Youth BTC at Scarborough; CHRIS SHORT JSTGG banged another consistant result out finishing second in the A Class behind Richard Sadler. Chris is proving that 'keeping consistant' is the way to win Youth Championships... The JSTGG I.O.W Team mates GEORGE GOSDEN and CHRIS STAY finished 7th and 9th, both gaining healthy Championship points. Chris was actaully ill at the weekend and nearly didnt ride. BRADLEY COX (AceGG) won the B Class which was a superb result beating the leading UK B Rider Luke Walker. JACK STONES (JSTGG) was 6th and B+BJST Gasser rider JACK PRICE was 7th. Checkout the usual Trials websites for full results and reports from both events Regards Shirty |
