GAS GAS UK rider Alex Snow has just finished 3rd overall and on the podium at the prestigious ‘The Welsh’ Enduro.
‘The Welsh’ is arguably the most famous traditional Enduro event in the UK with over 500 riders. Congratulations to the organising club and the countless marshalls for a superb event in perfect weather.
Previous winner Alex was 4th overall after Day 1 with some work to do. He started well on Day 2 and was soon up to second battling with five times winner Daryl Bolter and Tom Sagar. Alex was pushing hard and was hoping for a mistake from leader Dan Mundell which didn’t happen. Instead, Alex crashed on the penultimate test which dropped him back to 3rd. Alex rode the final test of the event slightly angry and with no front mudguard and actually won the test! Alex had to concede for 3rd overall for this year’s event. Congrats to deserved winner Dan Mundell and runner up Daryl Bolter.
I was happy with Alex who as always gives 100%.
Quote from Snowy;
Really enjoyable 2 days in Wales. Didn’t get the result we were hoping for but still nice to be on the box. Been struggling to feel like myself of late, but was good to start to feel normal again as the race went on despite a big mistake on one of the last enduro tests. Big thanks to Shirty and Harry for their help at the race along with all the sponsors. Now looking forward to a small break to re-charge ready for the second half of the season.
John Shirt also flew the GG flag finishing 4th in the popular Expert Vet Class behind winner Andrew Edwards, Rowan Jones, and Tim Foreman.
We also had Dave Edwards out on a new EC RANGER for the first time and enjoyed his ride finishing 17th overall in the Clubman Class.
Thanks to Bob Mullins and Ashleigh Blunt for the pics.
Thanks to Factory Kev for Snowy bike prep.
