GG weekend news….British Championship Super-Trial Round 2

Most of the JSTGGUK Team travelled south to the North Berks Super-trial near Oxford on Sunday.

GAS GAS Factory no.1 rider JAMES DABILL was a very welcome rider to this event and showed why he is the no.1 GG rider. It was a ‘masterclass’ from Dibs who won the event very easily from JSTGGUK/Inch Perfect rider Dan Peace who was also impressive finishing 2nd following on from his 2nd place at last weekend’s British Championship Round at Guisborough.

Everything about this Super-trial event and its format/rules was great and ALL riders were happy. All riders rode two laps of 8 sections. The best 8 riders went through to the semi-final which we had 5 x GG riders go through, James Dabill, Dan Peace, Sam Haslam, Jack Price and Michael Brown. Then the best 4 riders went through to the final.

Dabill was in amazing form who cruised the semi with only 1 mark lost. He then continued into the final brimming with confidence on his Factory GG. He levelled all the massive steps/log and won the final easily with just 6 marks lost. Absolute masterclass.

JSTGGUK /Inch rider Dan Peace was 3rd in the semi but upped his game massively in the final when things got big. A superb ride on the logs was gratefully received by all spectators. Another very well deserved 2nd place again to Dan.

JSTGGUK rider Sam Haslam had an awesome day finishing 4th overall. Sam looked like he was a WTC rider again and impressed everyone including himself. He qualified well and was 2nd in the semi. He just fell short on the very big steps in the final gifting 3rd place to young Vertigo rider Toby Martyn who rode very confidently all day. Nevertheless Sam had a great day and will be on his knees today fitting carpets with a cheeky grin on his face .

JSTGGUK/Cloburn rider Jack Price finished 5th and was not happy. JP was fine in the heats and qualified a solid 3rd for the semi. He fived the big step on section 3 and had a bad ‘3’ on section 4 which all the other semi-finalists cleaned. This 3 cruelly knocked him out. JP ‘will’ bounce back at his local Yeadon and Guisley event this coming bank holiday Monday.

JSTGGUK rider Michael Brown was 6th overall and also looked like he was back riding WTC and rode surprisingly confident, loving the stop allowed format. Michael didn’t show any tiredness from the previous days British Extreme Enduro event in Wales which he rode purely for fun on the new 2018 EC250RACING. Michael finishing 6th overall.

JSTGGUK/inch Perfect rider Jack Peace struggled in 10th and looked tired all day. A very keen young Jack looks like he doing too much of late and I’ve advised him to take some time out. He will also bounce back this coming bank holiday Monday Yeadon super-trial.

JSTGGUK rider Tom Minta was 13th.
