JSTGGUK Trial Team riders were out at three popular Trials over the Easter bank holiday weekend…
The first was on Good Friday at the Richmond Club’s Sid Morton memorial Trial at Fremington Edge in North Yorkshire. JSTGGUK Team rider Dan Thorpe started his very busy Easter ‘holiday’ weekend with ‘trial no.1’ and grabbed 2nd place behind a very on-form Guy Kendrew. JSTGGUK girl Katy Sunter Thorpe was 8th clubman.
Sunday was Round 5 of the S3 parts / ACU Championship in Mid Wales at the Powys Trial organised by the Mid Wales Centre. JSTGGUK teamsters Dan Thorpe and Sam Haslam were 2nd and 3rd in the Expert Class (3rd and 7th overall). Good to see Sam Haslam back riding.
In the S3 Class JSTGGUK rider Richard Timperley was 9th and Stiles/GG ride Tom Moss was 10th. FK/JSTGGUK rider Chris Alford was 14th. In the Clubman Class the GG girls Katy Sunter Thorpe and FK/JSTGGUK girl Louise Alford were 9th and 11th respectively.
Easter Monday was the Llangollen and District MCC organised Lomax Trial in very cold and wet conditions in North Wales. This was Round 6 of the S3 parts / ACU Championship. Yet again Dan Thorpe was riding to complete his 3 trial weekend. Dan was yet again best GG rider and won the Expert Class (4th overall) .
in the S3 Class JSTGGUK rider Richard Timperley was 6th and FK/JSTGGUK rider Chris Alford was 8th which is his best S3 result so far this year. Stiles/GG ride Tom Moss was 13th. After round 6 in the championship standings Tom is 7th, Timp is 10th and Chris 12th.
In the Clubman Class the GG girls Katy Sunter Thorpe and FK/JSTGGUK girl Louise Alford were 5th and 22nd respectively. This was a great ride for Katy especially in the bad weather.
Well done to all, big respect to Dan and Katy Sunter Thorpe for riding all three events.
Thanks to Neil Sturgeon for the great pic of Dan from Friday and to Mike Rapley for the pics of Sam Katy and Richard in bad weather.
